Internet options ????

For some reason i`ve lost the abilty to change my homepage back to what i usually have it at.When you click on internayt options when you open the web browser there`s usually an address box where you can type this in and just below there option`s where you can delete cookies, internet history and web addresses, but this seems to have dissapeared and i have a different home page other the google which it`s usually set on.

The secuity contents and that are still there but just that folder options missing.????

Lol i know it`s will be just a click of a button but which one,i`m running win 2000 please help your my only hope.

If its XP or 2000 click start -> Run and type in gpedit.msc

Then when the group policy editor starts select

User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Internet Explorer -> Internet Control Panel

On the right hand side there is a list of the compontents and their status. If one is 'enabled' change it back to 'disabled' by double clicking it and changing the value.

Close the editor and restart IE, the tab should be back.

I`m running windows 2000 pro so icant just restore it back.Last night i tried unistalll explorer 6 and then reinstall it i unistalled sever pack 4 but alas it did`nt solve the problem.I tried internet explorer repair but nothing.

It must have altered something in my registry so it does`nt show the genreral tab in internet options.Lol the search goes on.
