Sound card help

I use traktor dj studio quite a bit but i was told this week if i got a sb live 5.1 card i could config traktor to enable me to cue up with headphones and not interfere with the track thats playing.

Doolz as been helping me set this up the way your supposed to but i am not getting anywhere. I hear both tracks when cueing not just the one. I ave been told about kx drivers and i have downloaded them and installed and followed the instructions and still no different.

I have posted on traktors and kx's forums but they are crap noo one wants to help at all.

This is my last chance. I am hoping someone on here knows how to set this up corrcetly.

My spec is

Athlon 1700 xp
512 ramm
zx pro
sb live
ac97 on board (disabled in bios as told to )


It is really pissing me off now. You would think the other forum boards would be only too willing to help but unfortunately not.

sped had his working like this a while ago, give him a shout on messenger mate

or if u can catch paradox in the oldskool room on soulseek he had his sorted like that ages ago too - aint been in there for ages so dont know if he still kicks about but someone will know

I'm pretty sure if you check on the traktor site that you can't set the SB Live up like this, it's not a true multichannel card - the minimum you'll need to use queuing is an Audigy card

From the support section of the traktor site:

Q: I can't figure out how to route the monitor to the rear speaker output of my Soundblaster Live card.

A: Unfortunately a series of 3D cards don't physically seperate front and rear speakers. These cards can not be used as true 4 channel cards, to have a seperate monitor output.


This is why I bought an audigy card, which works a treat.

dunno about the sound card and which work or not mate but sped defos had it going in some form or way lol

Just dont disable the AC97 then you can use BOTH soundcards on seperate channels m8

The only problem with that Myk is that the newer versions of traktor rather stupidly will only let you use one soundcard at a time

I have had a reply from the traktor site so when iget home i have a couple of things to try. As for disabling the ac97 i had to as instructed but you can only use one card as Mike says.

I am 100% sure that i can set it up its just complicated and i am losing my patience with it

Does any know about kx drivers and how to set them up. They dont look simple at all.

and thats what i need them to be simple
