Overnet help

Ok I got broadband at last so I been going on e-donkey to grab a few games (try before I buy) I know a few of you on here also use it.
I had e-donkey the other week but after I reinstalled xp it was hassling me to upgrade e-donkey everytime I turned it on, so I grabbed the latest version however it still said it wasnt the latest version so basiclly I got the new version of overnet 0.46 (which I think is the same thing yeah?)
I had a game on d-load before my format and after I chucked the temp files back in it was all picked up ok (1000mb of 1400mb complete) but since then (a week or so) its only got 200mb odd more, when I first grabbed the game the 1st 1gb took a day or so
I've started another one on d-load but that too is only up to 37mb (of 1700mb!) so at this rate its going to take months.
I see looking for the parts but Im allways getting "no needed parts" but i find it hard to belive no one has the parts i need as this game was a new popular game (unreal2)
So to get to my question (at last) is this normal ? am I missing something ? or is overnet just crap ?

Its quite frequent that games can take that long Jaz. You can be lucky and get some really fast but that depends on availabilty at any given time.
In the case of Unreal 2 whats happened is that when you started downloading it was fresh on the net and so there were loads of people with it on their hard drives. Now its been hammered by most and by many (like myself) recorded to CD and had the image deleted from my HDD to avoid clutter. Thats why it always best to grab games within the first week of them hitting the e-donkey/overnet circuit.

P.S Unreal 2 is graphically amazing but personally I found it drab and lifeless as far as the story and gameplay went. You are MUCH better off getting Vietcong or Black Hak Down, imho, both of which have some element of gameplay


P.P.S Me, Im waiting desperately for Gothic II to come out in English (3rd of May).

Cheers Myk, I see what your saying, perhaps I'll sack that unreal2 off then and give those others a try.

Try using emule m8 if u are having problems with the donkey.
I found it to be much quicker.

Usually if the bar is all blue it means more people got it red=bad an that part is missing.

Also depends on which server u are on some are faster than others for me
ive had over 300k a second ona 512k line from this

U have to update the server met file too that could be your problem or if u are using a router or a firewall this puts u on low id user rating u go to the back of que u need to sort that out if u want the faster speeds.
