Need to change files on my pc into

Couldnt think of a title for this, but here goes.

Recently put some stuff from vynal onto cd, on a friends CD recorder.

Problem is when I tried to transfer it to my pc, the files appear but not as music files.

Am I missing some important software to sort this problem out, if so what do i need to download. Or am I just being thick?

no worries mate its all a bit bafflin at first so we just move posts anmd reply to it to let peeps know so they know for next time. ul get the hang of it in time bud i=ts a peice of pissers when u know how

as for ur problem u mean u have a cd with audio tracks on it n u wanna put them on ur pc?? if so u wanna install a mp3 player - www.winamp.com (thats if ur runnin a old ver of windows) and ul need to rip the audio tracks to mp3, i use a proggy called music match for the job but go 2 www.tucows.com and search for mp3 encoders n ul find 1
