Ebay????

Right, errm, Im completely new to this ebay phenomina and its infact my dad whose after buying some software off it.

First time on the ebay site (uk), the £585 asking price has been met, there are 20 to 30 bids on the item.....

Why isnt this like a real auction? I cant seem to find the highest bid offer......is this on purpose?.

In an auction you get some geezer going fast as fek "500 at the back, 550 lady in the middle, 600! bloke in the jacket, any more on 600? Going, gone!" type of thing so you know what the price is youre up against so you can throw a bid in.

Does it tell you anywhere what the last offer was in £'s? He wants to keep a check on it and perhaps bid on it, but he doesnt wanna chuck in say £1000 blindly and its only at £750 if you know what I mean.

Cheers

Sirius.

You can do the proxy bid thing where ebay will bid on the item for you.Just put in the amount you are willing to pay for the item, and ebay will bid on the item for youy in the increment the auction is going up in i.e 1p or 50p untill it has met the price you are willing to pay for the item.

It won`t bid any higher than what you want to bid.You just get an email saying that you have been outbid. You can do what most people do and bid at the last minute, there a website that will bid at the last seconds for you so it ensures you win the auction.

Here`s the link sirius m8 CLICK ME

It also tells you on ebay all you need to know on proxy bidding.

Hope this helps you m8
