i only knew Ant for a relatively short time ,just a few brief months but we chatted so often it seemed like id known him years.I always expected that i WOULD know him for years but alas it wasnt to be. He made a very big impression on me in that short space of time,as one of the kindest most caring men id ever had the pleasure to meet. The very first time i ever encountered Ant was on Napster.Thats when Ants amazing capacity to share first became apparent to me. I was shocked at the ease with which he let me have a song from him that many others simply refused point blank to share. This was Ant - if he had it he would share it whatever it was. A trait that extended far beyond songs and the internet ,he was simply a caring sharing person .
He would often mention his family .I recall him sharing with his friends on the internet ,his concern, when his mum was taken i ll again after returning home from the hospital. I could go on about Ants good points for pages and pages but theres jus not room here. Im so glad i knew Ant ,he brought me great happiness and i will miss him terribly. I cant begin to understand the devastation his untimely death has caused to his parents and those closest to him,my heartfelt sympathy goes out to you all . love from lisa-mouse (Bedfordshire)xxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Even though I only knew Ant for about 6 months he struck me as one of the nicest people I had met online. He was always very genuine and willing to share with anyone and was a pleasure to chat with. His posts on OSA always made me laugh and I can truly say that I will miss him. I had looked forward to the day that I could meet him in person but unfortunately that wasn't to be. Regardless, I will remember Ant as a friend. May he rest in peace.

was truly devasted when i read the news about Ant, I met him online a few years ago now but it seemed like a lot longer. As most people have said that was the kind of person he was.Always in good spirits, full of humor and ready to help out anyone on the Anthemz Board.

My prayers go out to all his family and friends who will surely miss him so much, just like us, the people who will remember Ant as being a true friend and a great entertainer.......

Rest in Peace Ant you will always be remembered.

Never really got to know you but what i do know is what a great guy you were from all the messages and tributes that have been posted so far.

It's such a shame to see a life cut short at such an early age.

Enjoy yourself where ever you may be ..

Lets make sure Ant's life is celebrated rather than mourned.

Rest peacefully .

Dear Ant

Words fail me right now about what has happened. My thoughts and love go out to your friends and family.

Thank you for your friendliness - for that I class you as a friend.

I, along with everyone else, am going to miss you much on OSA and I'm sorry I never made it to GT to meet you.

You'll always be with us here at OSA - your memory will never, ever be forgotten.

Although I never personally met Anthony it was quite clear from our brief chats that he was a kind and generous guy. It's even more clear from those who had the pleasure of meeting him that he in some way touched all their lives. I only wish now that I'd had that pleasure.
To his family and friends I send my deepest sympathies.

Anthony was (and still is) a fantastic guy. His generosity & respect for other people has touched many hearts in a small space of time. Everyone who comes into contact with Ant, whether over the net or in person, always leaves with comments such as "What a brilliant guy", "Ant is sound" etc. & I am proud to say that I am one of these people.

I have only met Ant in person on a couple of occasions but he wore his heart on his sleeve on the OSA forum. He was always open to giving advice to anyone who had a problem, he loved his family dearly & even shared his worries with us when his mum was ill in hospital.

Ant always had funny stories to tell & we often swapped tales of the same places we visited in Yorkshire when we were kids. He had an excellent sense of humour & always raised a smile with us all.

OSA will not be quite the same without Ant, there will be a gap that can't be filled & his memory will stay with us forever.

Take Care Anthony, wherever you are....... & Happy Birthday m8 - have a drink on me!!!!

Love & Hugs,
Amy (London) xxxxxxxxxx

As I sit here at work, listening to Acen's classic and old skool standard "Close Your Eyes", I have to stop and reflect on its appropriateness to what has happened. Though, I just started posting on this forum, I was not in long enough to get to know Anthony Holmes as well as everyone else seems to have known him. Yet, we all still pause for him because we are an Old Skool family. And now one of our brothers...is gone.

May he rest in peace and may his family be blessed by god.

I was never fortunate enough to meet Ant personally - although I really wish I had - but for the 5 months or so that I knew him through OSA, ICQ and Paltalk he always struck me as a very caring, sharing and genuine guy.

He was always very honest and open with everybody and was as warm and welcoming as a human could be.... a very caring soul who looked after you & ensured that you felt both welcomed and wanted.

I shall miss him especially for his great generosity - whether materially or emotionally -, his humour and gregariousness and for his selfless caring and giving nature.

He was one of our stars - may he shine forever as brightly as he did in life......

Deepest respect, sympathy and condolences to his family and friends at this very difficult time.

Ant - you will be sorely missed bud...... but you will always be with us in spirit.....

Antony was a funny guy,
He made me laugh out loud.
Cracking jokes, being silly
You made oldskoolanthemz proud.

A tragedy has happened,
and we dont know why?
But Ant will carry on raving
At old skool partys in the sky.

To all his friends and family, my heart goes out to you at this very sad time.

Ant - you will be missed.

On all our hearts, and Keighley town.

As blackness seeps into our sorrow,

Remember light will come tomorrow.

For all of us, and our Ant too,

Sorely missed by all the crew.

So lifes not lived on if's or but's,

Its lived for friends, and going NUTS!

I didn't realise life could be so fragile
A teardrop held on the palm of your hand
How is it that time can stretch so long
When encapsulated in grains of sand

We cannot foretell our futures
Still we cannot forget our past
One thing that keeps us smiling through the tears
Is the memories will last

Life will be different without you
But in every heart we know you're there
Although some of us didn't know you that well
I want you to know that we still care

We will always remember you greatly
We'll keep your friendship inside our heart
Although we're gonna miss you like hell
We're all together as one - nothing can break us all apart

Goodnight

I met Ant on the OSA board and started chatting to him in paltalk

i still cant get my head around how 1 of the most genuine and funny gezzers has been taken away from us. i sat talking to Ant 1 night on paltalk for at least 5 hrs about the scene and tunes and where we had been and come from on the scene.
i never met Ant personally only from the pc but on many occasions i left my pc after chatting to him with aching ribs where he mad me laugh so much.

In my lifetime i've met about a dozen really sound dudes and a lot of not so nice people and i can honestly say that Ant was 1 of the dozen.

You'll be sorely missed M8

You'll be in our memories as 1 of the true oldskool dudes on the scene.

Like a lot of other OSA forum users I first met Antony on napster over a year ago now and he was the one who introduced me to the old skool anthemz site, who started me off with my first file sharing experience over the internet I can remember he could never keep up with all the people who wanted tunes off him.
I first met Antony through Alan (Rewind88-92) on the 7th July at goodtimes, he was one of the most easiest persons to get along with I had ever met, that night will never be fogotten.
I offer my respect to all his family and friends - Ritchie.

I never had the chance to meet Anthony, though I know I wish I had. He must have been a special guy, to be so highly spoken of by his friends. Regardless of how long they had known him. He is greatley missed by them, though certainly not missing from their thoughts. They have lost a friend that was well loved and respected. I've lost the chance of being a friend, but through there memory of him. They will make sure that he's a friend not forgotten.

To Anthony's family
