Gold membership has to increase surely - £30 isn't that unreasonable or £3 a month. Even more possibly?

I do agree - even a quid more isn't so out of the question - you can't but a goos sunday paper for a little under 2 quid these days - you certainly can't but a monthly music mag for under 3 quid - & half of the content (& more) in those a load of old bollox & mere advertising - cert nothing interactive about forking out for a mag that takes an hour to read & then gets binned.

But, on the whole, I think it's more the sheer volume of visitors who pay nothing at all but who do use the services day in day out (& currently for gratis) that should be the real focus here, & not so much the asking of those that already do pay to cough up a bit more - that's just asking for the same few people to pay for the others - the onus reallly should be on geting more non paying regulars to actualy pay a little also

i did think about raisin it up to 3 bullets. altho i do think it could have a adverse affect on the wonga as a whole coming in.

i dont think the regular users have a problem with puttin in a little bit more but i dont think it would attract the members that maybe dont visit or post as much to signing up. and so it could end up losing more than it earns extra.

at the mo id say its about 50/50 to those who are active and those who maybe bob on now n again to post there sales or download some mixes etc but dont really take part as much. i do think wed run a greater risk of losing them it being dearer which could then mean we'd end up worse off in the long run.

its a tough one to call, n im afraid to call it incase we end up in a virtual cardboard box with some spam fritters for company

Have two tiers of subscribers..

1/ gold members £2 month or £20 a year

2/ platinum members £3 month or £30 a year

Gives a choice and for the extra on the platinum tip could be aimed more at the dj's for extra data storage (1gig instead of 500mb)

You could also have a silver members bit too where they don't get the 500meg webspace, but only pay £10 as a one off for the year and still have access to mixes to download etc.

It's all about options, cadburys options mmmmmm

Good suggestions I reckon! It's all about 'tiers' of service & access rights - as you say, for the dj's for extra storage n stuff that's a great idea - I suppose ultimately it's what storage actualy costs on the main server v's actual cash coming in...

Whatever it be that Butty decides is workable & fair it's cert good to have everything back up

It's good to see everyone supporting OSA!

I know some people pulled their faces at the optional £2 Butty suggested when Gold Membership first came about but he was only doing it to sustain the site, not to buy beer chips/fancy dresses for me (I wish!!) and it's really good of everyone to help out with all that they can. Without people's donations/subscriptions OSA wouldn't be around, he owed loadsa money out before Gold started and even though it doesn't cover it completely, it's mostly which means OSA is still around!!

I know how gutted Butty was when the site nearly went down, and people showing their support will really mean the world!!

Cheers from me everyone! It just goes to show how much of a community OSA really is!!

Do ya know what..I never even thought of it in that way When Gold first came into effect...I really didn't think it applied to me as I thought it was mainly aimed at DJs, Promoters etc for their nights/mixes/promotion etc...I didn't consider that this shit actually costs money
Although I don't post as much as I used to, I still regulary use this site to see whats happenin etc so I am more than willing to join Gold if it helps
Will sign me and Si up pronto and apologies for being such a shortsighted fucker and not doin it sooner
Its a bit like goin round to someones gaff and never bringing a bottle (this is a no-no in scouse land lol)
Keep up the good work Butty and expect a paypal in the next few
