| No offence to anyone but I don't think this has been explained very well here....
USB 2 uses the same connectors as the old standard USB devices but is capable of much higher speeds (so to all intents and purposes both look the same on the back of the PC). Your PC motherboard needs to have USB 2 in order to support USB 2 devices.
So yeah your CD writer may run slower... If you wanna know if the PC has USB2 capability I suggest looking on the device manager bit in the system section of control panel, there should be a section there for the USB ports and it should say Universal Serial Bus 2.0 somewhere if you've got it (I think!!!!) |
