My mum got the letter too.....personal apology my arse. Why isn't it properly signed by anyone? If they were that arsed, they would have got somebody to sit there for days signing letters
On a serious note, it is quite bad. My mum and dad got a letter off them a few months ago implying they have been receiving benefits they shouldn't have. Errr, my parents don't get any benefits?

(not including the child tax credit thing...which made them much worse off by the way!) My dad hit the roof, because they taxed him even more than usual to make up for it, without any evidence or his permission. This letter about lost data has just been the icing on the cake for my father, and he is going craaaaaaazy about it. He has written, phoned, etc etc. and he is a stubborn man - he honestly won't let it lie, even if he is wasting his time!! In fact, my dad works for data protection in GM Police, which is probably why he is soooooo wound up.
