the thing is halloween is timeless , a lot of horror films were good at the time but if you watch them now the effects dont stand up ........
halloween relied on what in my opinion make a good horror flick .... tension,good music , a good cast and that chill factor , the scenes where michael appears then dissapears are simple but bloody scary.....
the japanese have gone back to basics and have done a few good films over the past few years ( the ring , the grudge ) where as the americans in the main seem to rely on special effects  |
the halloween music is pretty creepy |
