been there, so know what your going through nath. I would knock on his door and remain polite at all times. If he's a decent bloke he should respect your wishes and turn it down.
If he takes no notice, then either move or have someone break his legs, cos you ain't gonna get an respect from him. Personally I would move.
Also im an estate agent (although i work on sales, not lettings) and Im pretty sure that you can complain to your landlord and may even be able to get out of the contract early. If you are in flats there will be something in the lease relating to noise. Its def worth trying to blag the agent to get out of your contract
