In some languages, translated, the word of hello is just not mere greeting, but also accompanies some meaning or well wishing to the opposite person.
For example, the Urdu greeting 'Assalam-u-alaikum' means 'May peace be upon you'.

It's nice to be here, & to see so many friendly faces. Loadsa old friends, some new, & I'm sure some future.
