| You could quite happily run cubase and all that shizz on a midrange laptop go for summit around the 2.4ghz range and max out the ram to around 1gb or more dependant on the laptops limitations.
I would get an external usb soundcard (the creative live usb is a good cheap option) if you wish to mix MP3s as you will need to use the rear channels for the monitoring whilst the front channels play the audio.
