Lets go.
My mate Nathan had to drive up from Basingstoke. What should have been a 2.5 hour drive turned in to a 6.5 hour marathon for him. So the pub-crawl had to get binned. TK Tonny however started about 5 hours before us - 20 vodkas £14 sorry laa.
When Nathan finally turned up I drove us at warp speed to Huyton, for a swift one with Warren (Mr Ben), whilst waiting for the Blackburn ravers (Debs, Dan and Jen). Back to Warrens for a couple more
Taxi to Finnegan’s where we met up with the Hazy crew. Made my night to walk in and see Mick (Pluto/Grover) gave him a big hug. As I did with everyone else who was there; Shazzz, Mesh & Wkd night, Tag, Shanine, Kerry, Elvis & Priscilla, Mikeeee, Murfso, Tonny and Kevin. Robbie Edwards was banging out some quality tunes, but gave way for half an hour to Mick, which had us all in rapture.
Some of us scuttled off early to make sure we didn't miss out on anything. In hindsight it was rocking more in Finnegan’s and should have stayed there a while to let it fill up. But then at the last reunion the place was rammed almost immediately, maybe that was down to the Baltic weather in March.
Glad we were there to witness the empty dance floor. As Elvis took centre stage to do a routine of a cross between John Travolta and a gymnast. The cartwheel was absolutely spot on. I was in bits. It drew a good few on to the floor and the atmosphere immediately started to build. Seemed like a good time to put myself under the influence. And get myself down there. I quite rightly danced my socks off for the next 5 hours or so. Many more started to appear on the dance floor; Dave M, Ste & Dreamgirl, mrnex, Shabba & Shooms, Sweet Sensation & Pauly P making up the usual suspects. Had a twirl with just about everyone that I could make eye contact with. Made friends with some of the original quadders and had to go through the embarrassment of asking their names about 3 times over to make sure I’d remember them the next day. Hello to Shazzer G, Leegas, Bren, Jane1970 and Juley if you're reading. Everyone else I've forgotten.
Time went too quickly for me, but it was still taking dance casualties with many cabbaged round the edges. Lack of air-con could not have been helping here... Unreal how many people were p1ss wet through.
Couple of groans when songs were repeated, I even thought it was too soon to repeat songs from the first reunion - "relight my fire" - please no, throwing a bucket of water on everyones overheated fire would have gone down more of a treat.
We left at the death. To go back to Warrens where the tunes and drinks continued to flow on and on. I fell asleep at one point to find a bottle of poppers wedged up a nostril. I missed the decking jokes, but managed to admire the sheer quality of Warrens decking. Neatly and tastefully presented in a big heap . We left around 10 to get a much needed curry and shower before heading off to Wigan for the next nights silliness.

Baring a couple of groans. It was a tiptop night.
