| totally superb night.. still getting over it. i know its all been said above, but my general impressions were:
• when you closed your eyes, you were 'There'
• them tunes (still) sounded FRESH from the minute you walked in
• the atmosphere was incredible from 9.30 - 5am (when we finally crawled out of the upstairs room just after deep dish)
• beauty warm up tunes, even at 9.30ish (thats the only time i can remember) like 'pied piper' by RUN DMC. impossible to keep still!
• round 2 at glasgow in october has got to be a 'YES PLEASE'
• how great it was to see so many 'hometown' faces, over from yorkshire.. some a bit greyer, some a bit 'mumsy' - haven't seen any of em for years, but it just felt like yesterday.
• talking to random strangers about f*ck all again.
• mike jumping round like a kid, graeme concentrating and grinning.
• and how weird it is, that you can cheer EVERY song like a long lost brother for 5 hours, then only remember 4 tunes afterwards.? and when you're talking about what sounded best on the way home, its never the same songs you agree on.
(by the way, until someone can locate a recording of the night, here's a few more belters we remembered this week...)
Robert Owens - I'll Be Your Friend
Kechia Jenkins - I Need Somebody
Marshall Jefferson - House Music Anthem
Lenny Dee & Tommy Musto - Washing Machine
Landlord - I Like It
Sweet D - ThankYa
Black Box - Ride on Time.
anyway, glad i found this site and good to read the messages etc..
see yis in glasgow!
