My problem with this whole 'lipstick lesbo' thing is that it just puts us as females back several decades, in the sense that we are once again seen as nothing more than objects of sexuality for men to stare at. I guess what i am trying to say is that women should be able to be themselves in whatever capacity that may be straight, bi, lesbian (butch or not lol) and it should be comfortable for them. Women who act gay to please men imo are really comprimising thier own self worth and ability to make a statement for who they are as individuals. It also promotes a divide between the sexes which i think is wrong because i think it confuses men on what we actually want from them. Blokes do not have it that easy in reflection, the whole 'new man' thing, then all of a sudden we want masculine again. Then we dont want either we want a career and a nice big vibrator with a lifelong supply of batteries.
I just find it shocking that it has suddenly become fashionable almost to find men superflous (sp?) and to be gay, surley its a genetic thing and not a lifestyle choice aimed at looking sexy to (ironically) the gender that is supposed to be the non desirable. Men need women, women need men, men need men and women need women.
I think that programes like SATC wind me up a touch as it promotes the veiw that women are better and men pretty much redundant. I hate feminism as much as sexism. As someone else said earlier, men and women are equal- just lol i think maybe women are a bit stronger
