Well, ive heard that apparently they have conducted loads of tests with rats or mice and they have made them become pregnant without the need of male sperms. (which is totally mad!!) Dunno how they've managed it but they have!
Some men take ages to get ready aswell, although it is nearly always the women that takes longer!
Me included!
