Anyone seen this yet?
I downloaded a pre-release version and watched it tonight.
(I'm told the version I just saw is a lot different to the actual released version)
Saw the trailer for it and thought "it's a must see".
Hmmmm.
If you like mindless violence, tons of drug taking, and errr very little else, then it'll be a great watch for you, oh and it helps to like football (I don't, but still watched it)
Danny Dyer (Moff - Human Traffic) plays Tommy Johnson, with Frank Harper (Dog - Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels) playing Billy (not so) Bright.
From the off, we're given the introductions and it sets the scene for what lies ahead (the inevitable fight, Chelsea Vs Millwall) but all throughout the film, I couldn't help thinking something was missing, the plot.
There isn't one, hah, it's really a no-brainer, just go-see for entertainment only kinda thing, but hey, some films like that are good, just for a bit of escapism.
The other thing that sprung to mind was how unrealistic it actually was, now I don't know if the theatrical release has been re-edited to reflect that, but this version certainly had me chuckling and I remember a mate who was a huge Stockport County fan, telling me all about the infamous 'Chelsea Grin' and how they did it, which shocked me, and he once showed me a video that he'd taped of a more realistic nature, which made me think they could have done a lot more with the film, and I thought it was quite tame by comparison.
Anyway, see for yourselves, maybe the final release is better, I dunno?
Music was quite good throughout, plenty of old classics in there including Orbital's Chime. That said, it felt similar musical layout to that of Human Traffic, maybe Tong picked the music for this as well.
