There's a few viruses around that cause reboots - might be worth getting an online check before you start wiping your drive - try www.symantec.com

Otherwise I would agree with most of what's been suggested. That's the joy of PCs - so many different things that can go wrong

ps Johns_AR I like your strapline - sounds like a Sid Waddell classic if I'm not mistaken?
