Nasty Virus, Need Help, big Time

Alright folks, I have a nasty virus, and need some help.

Where do I start..... I'm on XP (Microshaft)

I was online last week, where I was on messenger ect... I was not
downloading or anything. My PC went all kind of slow, so I reboot, as you do.
On reboot, my pc went in to like a disc check thing, which i've never seen
before, doing tasks 1 of 3 ect........

When my PC loaded up after that, the date was back at june 2003, and when i went to change it, I get the error message saying :

rundll32.exe - Bad Image
The application or DLL c:\windows\system32\IMM32.DLL is not a valid windows message. Please check this against your installation diskette.

My sound drivers are gone, and when i go to my computer, my CD ROM and
Burner are not present (Drivers Gone Looks Like).

I am still able to get online, so I ran live update on my nortons 2003,
done a full virus scan, and it's found nothing. I also tried to get in to properties on my computer, to turn off system restore, however, i just get the same error message as above.

I tried doing an online scan at Panda and http://housecall.trendmicro.com,
however get an error message :

Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page.
As a result, the page may not display correctly.

I have shitloads of mp3's and files on my PC, and would not like to loose them.
Is there anyway round this without formating my hard drive??? I could always send all the files I need to an external device Via USB...
