Cheers guys. My gut instinct was that 2 x 1 watts was a bit pezzy. Myk, Ive just had a look at the Phillips.......it says 5 watts on your link, but the same model at Comet (3 quid more) is reported at 2x1 watts. I think this PMPO and RMS rating is confusing distinguishing things between sites.

It was gonna be a sort of bonus prezzy for my mum you see, she likes the radio on in the kitchen (almost all the time). The current one is a second hand one from about 1990 and is getting a bit ropey to be honest. It plays tapes too though. I could get just a radio, but she often says she would like to play CD's and tapes....as my mum and dad have no hifi unit at all.

Im wondering now whether to ditch the present I was gonna get and spend a tad more on a CD/Cassete/Radio combo thats higher than 5 watts. Its gonna have to be one or the other. Mind you, my dad let slip to my brother yesterday that it was pretty knackered, so I bet he goes and buys one and all now!!!! lol.We make a point of not telling each other so theres no risk of scamming an idea of the other! Its usually the case we get the same thing though! hahaha.

Ah well. 2 days to go and I still havent got any prezzies! Oh dear......

Sirius.
