The 'freedom of speech' argument happens quite a lot on most forums..
There will always be a time when somebody posts something and its either read the wrong way, or the post in question actually insults somebody.
I found this out the hard way some months back, hence my not being on the board for so long - but thankfully its been rectified and we're all mates..
However, as you can imagine.. this situation becomes more commonplace especially now boards such as this are becoming increasingly popular as newer members are appearing daily.
So nowadays, I am very carefull what I post, and I take a very good look at the threads (especially those that are several pages in length) before I actually post because there are times when somebodys actually expressed the same opinion as me. I also try to follow the 'if its not worth posting - don't post' rule.
There are a lot of users on many boards that have a habit of 'posting before they think' attitude - especially on lengthy threads. Even more so if they are new members that haven't had the chance to get to know regulars properly
If worst circumstances occur, and I actually insult someone... I always say sorry. PM or otherwise.
You'd be suprised how many people out there can insult users because of the anonimity of a forum, but somehow 'forget' that they can apologise in the same manner too....
Threads also have a habit of swaying off topic too - but that also happens everywhere, sometime with hilarious results - but I don't reckon thats a bad thing really..
I like it here, its a lot friendlier now - thats why I'm back.
I don't think we need to cast a vote cause' we all know the result it will achieve, but if a vote is cast.. we'll be arguing about it for ages.
In the meantime - peace y'all - and its good to be back!
