Try installing full without the Morgan Multimedia option, should be ok then.
As far as you icons..it could be for many reason. Eitherway Ill tell you 2 things :
1. The are on the bottom right not left :p
and
2. They are fuckin resource hogs m8, everything thats running near that little clock of yours is swallowing precious cpu time and memory. Id personally ditch the lot except for maybe the anti-virus if youre using one
Even if they arent running as background task (little icons near clock) you can still use them by starting them via the usual start/programs menu as and when you want them
