Heres my two pee
I dont mind paying the extra for a quality night of DJ's, as for opening earlier if you can fill it earlier then great, but it is rather frustrating playing to an empty room, if you can get a steady stream of peeps in, in that 1st hour then great, it makes doing the warm up worthwhile
I dont mind the bar prices me, but at GT I dont tend to drink as much as I would in a bar
As RJ 1st mentioned sound and light is paramount, I did notice the sound system as GT is a bit up and down... Why is that?
Yeah I'd love to play there more regular, playing whatever style, Italian House, Old Hardcore, Pumpin house, piano tunes whatever I got it all lol
I really enjoyed myself on BD, it was like the feb 2002 I think atmos wise, the other one Vertigo played at.. RJ and others played brilliant sets also, proper good mix of DJs that night
As for Vertigo, you gotta understand that this guy has a huge record collection, has excellent taste in music and is a legend locally imo
He plays more on a progressive and underground tip throwing in anthems everyso often. He may not suit the cheesy house brigade (dont get me wrong I love that as well lol) but believe there was a lot of vertigo fans at GT that night
As for Welly, again hes a great DJ and has a good rec collection, I just hope he exploits it (as did RJ with his collection when he was a res), and does summat different each time
I think the hardcore room is a good idea also, as long as there is different types of hardcore being played, old skool/happy/bouncy techno etc and if you can get the peeps in there from a promoors view its all good. I just hope it doesnt turn into a happy hardcore/really hard hardcore focused night... I think the Old Skool hardcore is key, but I would say that wouldnt I lol
I think the important thing is youve got to try and keep as many peeps happy as you can but at the same time retain an originality factor, and keep up the quality DJ's!!
